Comment on DE terminology
The DE world has been consistent when it comes to its struggling with definitions. It will be interesting to see if the term learncasting has legs!
Rather than getting all tied up in a knot regarding some of the terminology used or the introduction of new words -- educators must encourage clearly articulated statements and more precise and consistent usage.
Hey educators, if someone makes the statement to you -- "Does your course have lots of interaction?"
Are you willing to stand up and ask them to clarify their interpretation of the word "interaction" or provide more depth -- for example do they mean peer-peer, instructor-to-peer, note taking exercises from a text -- what aspect are they actually referring to?
Well are you willing to help clarify usage and definitions?
